Pan-Seared Salmon Steak with Bay Leaf

Fast, tasty, and healthy! This dish fits any diet and is good for you. I often cook salmon this way when there's no time to fuss with a steamer. It comes out really juicy, delicious, and wholesome!

  • Salmon is a very oily fish, so I don't recommend adding any extra oil to cook it in the pan.
    1. Scale the salmon steak.
    1. Rub it well with salt and ground black pepper and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes.
    1. Heat a non-stick skillet and lay the steak in it. You can remove the bone and cut it in half if you like — it depends on the size of the fish.
    1. To keep the fish from scorching and turning fishy-smelling, I add a splash of water and cover the pan for 2 to 3 minutes, then flip the fish and cook it through.
    1. The fish comes out very juicy and fragrant; when you add the water, it's nice to toss in a bay leaf.
    1. Serve the salmon with a vegetable side or a fresh salad.
  • Enjoy!
