Pan-Seared Salmon Steak with Bay Leaf
Fast, tasty, and healthy! This dish fits any diet and is good for you. I often cook salmon this way when there's no time to fuss with a steamer. It comes out really juicy, delicious, and wholesome!

- Salmon is a very oily fish, so I don't recommend adding any extra oil to cook it in the pan.
- Scale the salmon steak.
- Rub it well with salt and ground black pepper and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes.
- Heat a non-stick skillet and lay the steak in it. You can remove the bone and cut it in half if you like — it depends on the size of the fish.
- To keep the fish from scorching and turning fishy-smelling, I add a splash of water and cover the pan for 2 to 3 minutes, then flip the fish and cook it through.
- The fish comes out very juicy and fragrant; when you add the water, it's nice to toss in a bay leaf.
- Serve the salmon with a vegetable side or a fresh salad.
- Enjoy!
