Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
How to make a pork kebab on skewers in the oven? Prepare all the necessary products according to the list. If necessary, defrost the meat. In advance, transfer it from the freezer to the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. You can not leave the meat in a warm place or pour cold water. From this, its taste qualities will decrease. Which part of pork is best suited for cooking barbecue? Take a pork neck with fat layers. Then the kebab will turn out juicy and soft.
Step 2:
Wash the pork, dry it with paper towels. Cut across the fibers into medium-sized pieces (about 4 cm wide). Transfer them to a deep bowl. Peel the onion from the husk, cut into quarters and in half. Chop part of the onion finely. Put all the onions to the meat, add salt, pepper and grind everything with your hands so that the onion juice stands out. Close the lid or tighten the bowl with cling film and put it in the refrigerator for 2 hours for marinating.
Step 3:
Soak long wooden skewers in water. This is necessary so that they do not burn in the oven during the baking process. String pork slices and onion slices alternately on wet skewers.
Step 4:
Place the skewers over the baking sheet so that the meat does not touch the bottom of the dishes. As you can see, I also baked vegetables along with meat, you can also do this. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees in advance (10-15 minutes before cooking). Note that each oven bakes differently, so the time and temperature may need to be changed.
Step 5:
Send a baking tray with kebabs to the oven and bake the dish until a golden crust forms (about 30-40 minutes). It is important to turn the skewers periodically so that the meat is browned from all sides. How to check the readiness of a barbecue? Cut a piece of meat, if it is not red inside and clear juice flows out, then the dish is ready.
Ready-made pork kebab is served hot with fresh herbs, vegetables and spicy sauces (tabasco, barbecue, sayabeli, adjika, salsa, ketchup).
The method of marinating with onions is suitable for cooking kebabs not only from pork, but also any other meat (beef or veal, lamb, rabbit fillet, chicken).
If you want, you can add ready-made spices for the barbecue for flavor.
Sliced vegetables (potatoes, carrots, bell peppers) can be placed on a baking sheet. Place skewers with meat slices and onions on top. Bake. It will turn out a two-in-one dish. Both the meat and the side dish will be cooked immediately, which is convenient. How you can bake vegetables together with a barbecue you can read in this recipe
Keep in mind that everyone's ovens are different. The temperature and cooking time may differ from those specified in the recipe. To make any baked dish successful, use useful information about the features of ovens !
If you use ready-made spice mixes, be sure to read the composition on the package. Often, salt is already present in such mixtures, take this into account, otherwise you risk over-salting the dish.
In addition to pork, any other meat can be used in this dish. Keep in mind that the cooking time, as well as the taste and calorie content of the dish will change. For example, beef is cooked longer than pork, and chicken fillet or turkey is less.
