Step 1:
How to bake a rabbit whole in the oven? Prepare the products. Take a rabbit that is not very large — the optimal weight is about 1.5 kg. Greens can be any according to your taste. In winter, it is quite possible to replace fresh greens with dried ones. Sour cream is not very fat, 10-15%.
Step 2:
Rabbit meat, although very healthy, has a specific taste. To get rid of it, I recommend soaking the carcass in cold water for 5-7 hours. Also, you can add 1 teaspoon of 9% table vinegar to the soaking water — then there will be no trace of an extraneous smell.
Step 3:
First of all, turn the oven on 180 degrees so that it has time to warm up to the desired temperature — preparing the rabbit will not take much time. For baking, you will need a heat-resistant mold of a fairly large size so that the carcass fits completely. Dry the rabbit, add salt inside and out, put it in a baking dish.
Step 4:
Add a little salt to the sour cream, add mustard. It can be ordinary mustard, Dijon or grain — choose according to your taste.
Step 5:
Chop the garlic and add it to the sour cream. You can also grate garlic on a grater or pass it through a press.
Step 6:
Wash the dill, dry it, chop it with scissors or a knife. Add to the sour cream and mix the mass until smooth.
Step 7:
Liberally lubricate the rabbit with sour cream mass a little inside and on top.
Step 8:
Put the mold in the baking sleeve or wrap it tightly with foil. Put it in the oven for 2 hours.
Step 9:
If you like crisper meat, then bake the rabbit for 1.5 hours, then remove the sleeve (foil) and cook until crisp for another 30 minutes.
Step 10:
Serve the dish with seasonal vegetables. Enjoy your meal!
