Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
Prepare the products. Currants can be taken both fresh and frozen. If you have frozen, like mine, then take it out of the cold in advance so that the berries soften a little. It is not necessary to completely defrost. Take only good quality water for the morse, either bottled or filtered, the quality of the drink depends on its taste. Adjust the amount of sugar to your liking.
Step 2:
Wash the berries under running water. If your currant is frozen and was washed before freezing, then skip this step. Discard the washed berries on a sieve or colander to drain excess water.
Step 3:
We pour the finished berries into a bowl in which the juice will be cooked. We fill them with sugar.
Step 4:
Using a potato masher or any other convenient device, we knead the berries. It is not necessary to puree them, let them just crush slightly and let the juice flow.
Step 5:
Pour boiling water over the currant. To do this, I put the prepared water to boil in a kettle, while it was boiling, I mashed the berries. Mix it up.
Step 6:
Put the dishes on the fire and bring to a boil, but in no case do not boil! We wait for the first bubbles and turn off the heating. This way we will keep the maximum benefit in the finished drink.
Step 7:
Now we need to strain the juice through a sieve. Do not throw out the remaining cake, you can also make a morse on it, just take a smaller amount of water.
Step 8:
You can use mors both hot and cold. We like a cold drink more. Hot is good to drink during a cold. Bon appetit!
The juice turned out to have a very rich currant taste, moderately sweet.
If you want to make the drink even healthier, then put honey in it instead of sugar. Just do it after the juice cools down, in a hot environment honey loses its useful properties.
You can also squeeze juice from crushed berries before boiling, and inject it into a ready-made cooled drink, this will also increase its usefulness.
