Step 1:
Sift flour with spices, cinnamon, salt, add powdered sugar. Rub the butter into the flour. Put currants in a bowl, pour brandy and add vanilla, leave for 10 minutes. Beat the egg lightly and mix with currants and cognac. Mix with flour and butter, knead a soft dough quickly.
Step 2:
Roll the dough into a ball, wrap it with cling film and put it in the refrigerator for at least 15-20 minutes.
Step 3:
Roll out the dough (through baking paper or sprinkling lightly with flour) into a layer 0.5-0.75 cm thick and cut out circles with a diameter of 6 cm. Place the cookies on a baking sheet covered with baking paper.
Step 4:
Bake for about 16-20 minutes until cooked in a preheated 180 degree oven. Cool the finished cookies on the grill. If desired, sprinkle the still warm cookies with powdered sugar.
