Italian salad with croutons, cherry tomatoes and cheese

Gourmets will appreciate it! A simple recipe for a delicious salad! This is my favorite Italian salad from the whole range of salads, where hot croutons are added. It is with these ingredients that their taste is revealed more vividly. I did not hesitate to ask for this recipe for Italian salad in an Italian restaurant, where I often celebrate my own birthday. The most amazing thing is that the cooks there don't make any secret of their dishes. They wrote down the recipe for me, told me, as if even with an elusive challenge, "Try it!", but with all this with respectful respect.

1. Cut slices of white bread into cubes. In a frying pan, without adding oil (you can only lightly lubricate with a cooking brush), fry them until they blush.
2. Mix diced cheese, lettuce leaves, basil, torn by hands, halves of olives and quarters of cherry, finely chopped cucumbers and sweet pepper into thin strips in a salad bowl.
3. Mix olive oil with mayonnaise and season the salad with it. Add salt and pepper.
4. Add hot croutons to the already prepared salad and mix several times with light movements so as not to thicken the salad.
