Cooking method

Cooking time: 15 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1

How do you make cabbage salad with green peas? First, prepare all the ingredients. You can use either fresh or frozen green peas. If the cucumbers are small, use 2 or 3. Tomatoes can be any size - it just changes how you cut them. Rinse the cucumbers and tomatoes under running water to remove any dirt.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2

I'll be using frozen green peas. Drop them into boiling water and cook for 5 minutes. Then tip the peas into a colander and drain. Rinse the cooked peas once or twice in cold water.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3

Shred the cabbage thinly and scrunch it a little with your hands. Why scrunch it? To make it softer and juicier - which makes the finished salad juicier too.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4

Transfer the shredded cabbage to the bowl you'll make the salad in - a wide glass salad bowl is handy here. Cut the cucumbers into sticks and add them to the bowl after the cabbage.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5

Cut the tomatoes. If they're large, halve them, remove the stem end, and cut into large wedges. Small cherry tomatoes need only be cut into 2-4 pieces. Add the cut tomatoes to the salad.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6

By now the green peas have cooled after cooking. Finely chop fresh dill and add it, along with the peas, to the bowl.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7

Dress the salad with lemon juice and olive oil. Add a little salt to taste. If you like, you can use aromatic sunflower oil for the dressing. For extra flavor, add a few spices with aromatic herbs.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8

Toss all the ingredients together. Transfer the finished salad to a serving bowl and bring it to the table!

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9

The finished salad is tasty and light. It's a perfect complement to any meat dish. Enjoy!

  • If the cucumber skin isn't tough, damaged, or bitter, there's no need to peel it.
