Pea Porridge with Meat

This hearty, very tasty split pea porridge with meat simply melts in your mouth! A great idea for dinner.

  • Fry the pork pieces in vegetable oil. Add the chopped onion and carrot to the same pan. Season with salt and spices and cook everything for about two minutes. Add the rinsed split peas to the pan and pour in enough water to cover the peas by about an inch (2 cm). Bring to a boil, lower the heat, cover, and cook until done to your liking — the peas can be left slightly firm or cooked until soft, whatever you prefer. Serve the pea porridge with meat, dressed with a little butter and some fresh herbs. Enjoy!
