Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 1 h
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make mashed potatoes with mushrooms? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. Peel the potatoes and rinse them from dirt.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Put the peeled potatoes in a cooking pot. If the potato is large, then it can be cut into 2-3 parts. So it will cook faster. Fill the potatoes with water so that they are completely immersed in it. Put the pan on the fire and bring to a boil. Cook the potatoes over low heat for 20-30 minutes. Potatoes should become soft.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

While the potatoes are cooking, start cooking mushrooms. You can take any mushrooms at your discretion. I have fresh champignons. Rinse the champignons thoroughly in running water. Then cut the mushrooms into large slices. Pour a little vegetable oil into a hot frying pan and put the chopped mushrooms. Fry the mushrooms for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

During frying, the mushrooms will decrease in size and a little moisture will appear from them. It will partially evaporate. Add garlic to the mushrooms, passed through a press. Add salt and ground pepper to taste. Warm everything together for another couple of minutes and remove from the heat so that the mushrooms do not dry out.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

When the potatoes are soft, drain the hot water from them and add the butter. Mash the potatoes with a potato masher and add warm milk. For a more uniform consistency, you can use a blender. By the way, milk can be replaced with cream.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

The finished mashed potatoes are not very thick and not liquid. Adjust the consistency to your liking by adding milk.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Put mashed potatoes on a plate, and fried mushrooms on top. Serve hot. Bon appetit!

Important! An incorrectly selected frying pan can ruin even the best recipe. All the details on how to choose the perfect frying pan for different dishes read here .

Buy fresh medium-sized mushrooms, snow-white color without spots, damage, rot smell. They should not be slippery to the touch. Thoroughly rinse the mushrooms from the ground under a stream of warm or cold water. Cut out the damaged places, if there are any. Miniature mushrooms up to 2 cm in size do not need to be cleaned at all, it is enough to rinse them well. Larger champignons are recommended to be cleaned from films.

Champignons can be replaced with boletus or buttermilk, but take into account the difference in the sequence and cooking time.
