Cooking method
Cherries for homemade tincture are best chosen dark red for a beautiful saturated color of the drink. To begin with, you need to sort it out, separate the berries from the twigs and leaves. Spoiled or green fruits should be removed - they will not give either color or taste. Then rinse the cherries under cold running water and drain the excess water, throwing the berries into a colander.
Next, the cherries should be dried from excess moisture. To do this, the berries can be spread out on a paper towel and left for a while so that they dry well.
Bones from cherries can not be removed. Firstly, this process takes a lot of time and effort. And, secondly, the presence of berries in the tincture gives it a slight pleasant bitterness and a special piquant taste.
Next, it is necessary to mix vodka with granulated sugar in a separate bowl. Stir well so that the sugar is completely dissolved.
Then prepare a container for infusing the drink. Rinse it well, pour boiling water over it and dry it.
Put dried cherries in a container and pour vodka with sugar dissolved in it. In this case, the liquid should completely cover the cherry berries.
Put the container in a warm place for infusing for two weeks. At the same time, shake the container with cherries about once every two days for the best result - so that the berries give their juice to the future drink.
After two weeks, strain the contents of the container with berries. Skip through the filter. As a filter, you can use a layer of cotton wool or a folded gauze or bandage.
Prepare beautiful bottles for tincture. Rinse them thoroughly and dry them.
Pour the filtered tincture into prepared bottles and seal tightly with lids.
You can store homemade cherry tincture in a dark, cool place from one to four years. After standing for a while longer, it becomes even tastier and richer.
Delicious, beautiful and amazingly fragrant tincture is ready!
