Cooking method

Cooking time: 10 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1

How do you make a salad with cheese, sausage, and corn? Gather all the ingredients the recipe calls for. Use any smoked sausage you like. A hard cheese works well here. Open the can of corn and drain off the liquid.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2

Peel, rinse, and dry the carrots. Grate them on a coarse grater and put them into a deep, roomy salad bowl.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3

Remove the casing from the sausage. Cut it into thin strips and add it to the carrots.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4

Grate the cheese and add it to the bowl.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5

Add the drained corn and the mayonnaise to everything else. You can use more or less mayonnaise to taste. I don't like too much mayonnaise in my salads, so I always add it sparingly.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6

Peel the garlic. Grate the clove on a fine grater or press it through a garlic press, and add it to everything else. Salt and pepper to taste. Rinse the fresh herbs and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Young green onion, dill, or parsley all work great here. Finely chop the herbs and add them to the salad.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7

Mix everything thoroughly. Before serving, garnish the finished dish with a few sprigs of parsley or dill.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8

    Done! Ready to serve.

  • For a salad like this, it's best to use homemade mayonnaise. Enjoy!
  • It's better to make your own mayonnaise — it'll be tastier and healthier. Check out our interesting recipes for homemade mayonnaise. You can also use sour cream or plain yogurt as a dressing instead of mayonnaise, either on their own or mixed with mayonnaise in any ratio you like — this will cut down on calories.
  • How do you pick good canned corn? Always check the expiration date on the can. If the container is glass, take a close look at the kernels — they should be uniform in size and color, whole, and free of spots. The ingredient list shouldn't include dyes, preservatives, or flavor enhancers.
