Homemade Cola
You can make cola at home! Don't believe it? Then give it a try! Yes, you read that right—we're going to make real homemade cola! You will need carbonated water for it, though: plain unflavored, unscented club soda, not mineral water. Of course, this drink is a far cry from the original, but it's still a fun one to make :)

- To make this homemade drink look like real cola, here's what to do. First, the caramel: 1. Pour 1 tablespoon of water into a small saucepan. 2. Add 5 tablespoons of sugar. 3. Set the pan over low heat and warm it, stirring constantly. 4. Once the lumps break up and the sugar starts to melt and turn dark brown, pour in 1 cup of hot water. 5. Turn up the heat and boil for about 30 seconds. This caramel is what colors the drink. Now for the cola itself: 1. Wash the oranges, lemon, and lime well and carefully grate off their zest on the fine holes of a grater. 2. Peel the fruit and squeeze out the juice. 3. In a suitably sized pot, combine 1 liter of water, the zest, sugar, coriander, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix well. 4. Bring to a boil, then cook for another 1 minute. 5. Take the pot off the heat and stir in the squeezed juices, vanilla extract, and the caramel you made for color. 6. Pour 150 ml of boiling water over 2 tablespoons of ground coffee and let it steep for 10 minutes. Strain it and stir the coffee into the syrup. 7. Let the syrup cool, then refrigerate it overnight. Strain it the next day. Your homemade cola is ready. Fill a glass halfway with syrup, then top it off with club soda. Add ice before serving if you like. By the way, if you don't drink coffee, you can leave it out. Enjoy!
