Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
For the preparation of sweet mustard, I use both sugar and honey at the same time. You will also need, of course, dry mustard powder, sunflower oil (or other vegetable) without smell, white wine vinegar (in fact, vinegar can be any - I took balsamic, because I love its flavor, take the one that you like or just available, mustard is even made on any vegetable marinade or brine), if desired, add a pinch of salt to balance the taste.
Step 2:
Pour mustard powder into a suitable jar with a tight lid.
Step 3:
Fill the powder with warm water and mix well so that there are no dry inclusions in the total mass.
Step 4:
Add sugar and mustard, continue stirring until smooth, add a pinch of salt and vegetable oil.
Step 5:
When the mass becomes homogeneous, fluid and elastic, stop mixing, close the jar tightly with a lid and leave it in a warm place or just in room conditions for 12 hours (usually mustard is made overnight), put it in the refrigerator in the morning and store it there.
Step 6:
Mustard is perfectly stored for about six months in the refrigerator, but it can lose its sharpness over time.
Step 7:
That's it! Our sweet mustard is ready! Serve it to meat and even fish, to aspic and jelly, cook salad dressings and sauces based on it! Bon appetit with spicy and delicious sweet mustard!
Sweet mustard is often needed in culinary everyday life - after all, a considerable amount of sauce and salad dressings are made on its basis. And by itself, in ready-made form, it is an excellent addition that causes an appetite. Marinades and sauces made on the basis of or with the addition of mustard are good. Mustard sauces and salad dressings are served either separately in small portion saucers, which are installed immediately on a platter or plate, or the products are watered with them immediately before serving.
