Cooking method

  1. Step 1:

    Step 1

How do you make a salad with chicken, pineapple, cheese, walnuts, and egg? You'll need cooked chicken and hard-boiled eggs — cook both ahead of time. Any part of the chicken works; just pull the meat off the bones afterward. And peel the eggs.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2

Get out a serving bowl to build the salad in layers. Finely chop the chicken and spread it across the bottom as the first layer. Brush it with a little mayonnaise.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3

Pineapple goes next. You can use canned — open the can and drain off the liquid. Chop the pineapple fine, spread it as the second layer, and brush it with mayonnaise too.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4

Grate the cheese on the fine or medium side of the grater and spread it as the third layer. Brush with mayonnaise.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5

For the next layer, grate the hard-boiled eggs and spread them in an even layer over the salad. Brush with mayonnaise.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6

Walnuts finish it off. Chop them small with a knife — it tastes better that way — and I'd recommend toasting them lightly for a fuller flavor and aroma. Scatter the walnuts over the top and refrigerate the salad for a while, so it chills and the layers soak up each other's flavors. Enjoy!

  • The pineapple keeps the salad light and fresh, the eggs make it tender, and the chicken and walnuts make it filling. You can serve it as a main dish or just as a snack — it's a great addition to any table. Lean chicken pairs beautifully with the exotic pineapple, and for all its sweetness, everything in the salad comes together in harmony. Don't go heavy on the mayonnaise, since the pineapple is already juicy — too much and the salad will turn watery. You can add a little garlic if you like. This salad is sure to please you and your guests; it's very tasty and quite filling. Enjoy!
