  • Cranberries are a very healthful berry, packed with a huge amount of vitamins and nutrients. Some studies suggest cranberries are one of the most beneficial foods for the body. Eating cranberries boosts the body's resistance to colds and supports the health of your blood vessels. Cranberries are also invaluable for people dealing with various digestive issues. Of course, if you plan to use cranberries medicinally, check with a doctor first. As jam, though, cranberries are above all a delicious dessert. Rinse and sort the cranberries. In an enameled pot, cook a sugar syrup from the water and sugar, stirring constantly. When the syrup is ready, add the berries and cook until done. To round out the flavor, you can add 200 grams of apples and 50 grams of shelled nuts. Spoon the finished jam into clean, dry jars while it's still hot. Store cranberry jam in a cool, dark place.
