- You can use all the ingredients for this salad ready-made. Buy canned beans, canned corn, Korean-style carrots, and mayonnaise at the supermarket. You'll also need a tomato and some fresh herbs. 1. Drain the liquid from the corn. To do this, tip it into a sieve or colander and shake it well so all the liquid drains off completely. Put the corn into a bowl. 2. Do the same with the beans, if they aren't in tomato sauce. If they are in tomato sauce, rinse the beans under running water as well. You can choose either white or red beans to your taste. Then add them to the corn. 3. Next, add the Korean-style carrots to the bowl. 4. Cut the tomato into small squares no bigger than the beans, and finely chop the well-washed herbs. These can be parsley, dill, green onion, or any other herbs you like — maybe cilantro or basil. 5. Add garlic to the mayonnaise, grated on a fine grater or pressed through a garlic press. Mix it in. 6. Combine all the ingredients and dress with the garlic mayonnaise. And the salad is ready. Quick, hearty, and delicious! Eat the salad within a couple of hours, as the tomatoes will start to release their juice and the salad will get watery. You can dress the salad with mayonnaise right before serving and take only as much as you're going to eat right then. If you have the time and want this salad to be healthier, you can cook the beans yourself after soaking them overnight. For the corn, you can cut the kernels off a fresh ear or thaw and rinse frozen corn — that way it'll have more vitamins. You can also make the Korean-style carrots yourself in advance if you have a special grater and the right seasoning. The mayonnaise can be homemade too, or replaced with sour cream or unrefined vegetable oil. Enjoy!
