Lasagna with Ground Chicken and Cheese
Treat your family to a gorgeous Italian classic! Lasagna... sounds tempting )) Today I'll show you how to make a seriously delicious restaurant-worthy dish at home. The ragù takes a while to simmer, but I save precious minutes by making the sauce while it cooks, so the whole process never feels like a chore.

- Peel, wash, and finely dice the carrots and onion. Melt the butter in a skillet over the heat, add the vegetable oil, then the prepped onion and carrots, and sauté for a couple of minutes. Add the ground chicken, stir, and cook a couple of minutes more. Now add the tomato sauce, season with salt and pepper, pour in the broth, cover the skillet, and simmer over low heat for 2 hours (longer if time allows — the flavor only gets better).
- Don't waste the wait: while the chicken ragù simmers, make a white béchamel sauce. Melt the butter in a saucepan over the heat, add the flour, whisk smooth, cook for a minute, then add the nutmeg and salt. Pour in the milk in a thin stream, whisking constantly, and cook until thickened; take it off the heat, stir in the grated Parmesan, and combine. Press a piece of plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the sauce (so a skin doesn't form) and set it aside.
- Bring water to a boil, add a pinch of salt, and boil the lasagna sheets for 30 seconds. In a baking dish (mine is 8x12 in / 20x30 cm), layer the lasagna sheets, spreading them with béchamel and the chicken ragù. Build up the lasagna this way and finish with grated Parmesan on top. Bake in an oven preheated to 355°F (180°C) for 40 minutes.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs to taste.
- Enjoy!
