  • This recipe gives you a knockout hot spiced wine. It's perfect for sipping in winter, when you come home from work tired, chilled to the bone, and thoroughly miserable. You don't even want to eat — it's usually too late for a big meal anyway. So you settle onto the couch in front of the TV, warm yourself a little of this drink, and bask in the pleasant heat spreading through your body. One word of caution: don't drink it in large amounts. First, because it can be hard on your heart (there's red wine in it, after all), and second, because hot alcohol goes to your head much faster and harder than usual.
  • Slice the orange into rounds without peeling it (washing it well first, of course). Pour the red wine and rum into a pot and add honey, salt, cinnamon, black pepper, cloves, and the orange. Stir and bring to a boil over low heat. The moment it boils, take it off the heat and strain it. Serve it right away. After that, you can reheat the drink before serving. By the way, it makes a good remedy for a cold. As for whose cuisine this is — I couldn't tell you, because I don't know myself.
