No-Bake Cake from Puff Pastry Cookies
A simple solution to a tricky problem — incredibly easy to make!
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
To make the cake, you'll need: puff pastry cookies (I used palmiers, but any puff-pastry cookies will do), condensed milk, sugar, and sour cream.
-
Step 2:
Beat the sour cream with the sugar until the sugar dissolves, then mix in the condensed milk — the cream is ready. Crumble a few cookies; we'll use these crumbs to fill the gaps between the cookies.
Take a springform pan and lay the cookies on the bottom in a single layer.
-
Step 3:
Spread the cookies well with the cream.
-
Step 4:
Lay a second layer of cookies on top and fill the gaps between them with crumbs. Repeat until the pan is full.
-
Step 5:
Spread each layer well with the cream.
-
Step 6:
When the pan is full of cookies, pour all the remaining cream over the top and sprinkle with crumbs. Cover with plastic wrap and a plate or lid, and set a weight on top — for example, a saucepan with about 1-1.5 liters of water. Refrigerate for a day so the cake soaks through well. After a day, the cake will be ready. Carefully remove it from the pan. If you don't have a springform pan, you can use a regular one, first lining the inside with plastic wrap so the cake comes out easily.
