"Liquid Cake" Chocolate Trifle

An incredible dessert! Rich, deep chocolate flavor! The chocolate trifle is a layered pastry, a masterpiece of confectionery art, served in a cup (it can be a glass, a dessert cup, or anything else). Trifles are very popular in Europe and the US, and it's no wonder. They're not hard to make, especially if you have various ready-made mixes on hand for the pudding and sponge cake. Of course, you can skip the store-bought mixes and make everything yourself — it'll be even tastier!

  • Trifles are very easy to make if all the components are prepared in advance, or if you have special store-bought mixes for quickly making the cake and pudding. For chocolate trifles, you'll need chocolate sponge cake and chocolate pudding. If you want to make both yourself from scratch, you can search the site and find plenty of interesting recipes. So, the cake and pudding are ready and cooled. Cut the sponge into 1.5-2 cm cubes and set them aside in a large container for now. The pudding waits its turn in a separate bowl. The cream should be well chilled. Chill a roomy bowl ahead of time by putting it in the freezer for 15 minutes. Then pour in the cream and beat it with a mixer until it forms a fluffy foam. Add the sugar in batches, continuing to beat. And pour in the vanilla extract as you go. Beat the cream until firm peaks form. Remember that cream is easy to overwhip, turning it into butter, so watch the process carefully. In a separate container, combine the chocolate pudding, condensed milk, and coffee, and beat the mixture with a mixer until smooth. Then add half the whipped cream and beat again until the mixture is smooth and even. Start assembling the trifles, for which you'll need 4 cups or dessert glasses. Put the sponge cake as the bottom layer, pudding on top, and whipped cream as the third layer. Repeat the layers, filling the cups to the top. Make the final layer whipped cream. Grate the chocolate and sprinkle the shavings over the trifles. Put the cups of trifles in the refrigerator for 6-8 hours, after which they'll be ready to serve. Enjoy!
