"Fairy Tale" Layered Salad with Smoked Chicken
A really pretty salad for the holiday table! The first time I visited my mother-in-law, the first place I ended up was at the table — she turned out to be a wonderful host. There were tons of salads laid out, each prettier than the last. But this is the recipe she made most often. Why? Because it was the first to vanish from her table. That's why I'm sharing it with you — "Fairy Tale" salad with chicken leg or smoked chicken.
A quick heads-up: all the ingredients I've listed can be varied — swap one for another — and the amounts are entirely up to taste, even though I've given a recipe. Use more of one thing, less of another. Cut everything into cubes or small pieces, whatever you prefer. And season each layer with salt and pepper to taste.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Boil the carrot, potatoes, and eggs.
-
Step 2:
Cut all the salad ingredients into cubes.
-

-
Step 7:

-
Step 12:
My son loves decorating it.
-
Step 13:
We made this salad for the first time, and it vanished from the table faster than it took to make.
- Remember that "Fairy Tale" salad is best made the evening before, so it soaks through and turns out juicier.
