- Soak the gelatin in water according to the package directions. 2. Heat the gelatin without letting it boil. 3. Add the seasoning and bring it just to a boil, but don't let it boil hard. 4. Pour the mixture into a pretty little serving dish. 5. Put the dish in the fridge for a bit, but watch it so it doesn't set completely — you only want it to firm up slightly. 6. Meanwhile, prepare the decorations. 7. Cut the carrot into little stars and finely chop the green onion. 8. Stick a "snout," "ears," and a "tail" cut from sausage into each egg, and use peppercorns for the "eyes." 9. Set the finished "piggies" into the aspic; to help them stand more steadily in the soft aspic, you can slice a bit off their "bellies." 10. Decorate the aspic with carrot, green onion, and mayonnaise. 11. Refrigerate until fully set. P.S.: You can make the aspic "puddle" any way you like. Enjoy, and happy holidays!
