- Mash the cottage cheese with your hands, add the egg and baking soda, and stir. Add the softened butter, then blend everything smooth with an immersion blender. Chop the bacon. Set the mixture over low heat and let it melt for 15–17 minutes, until all the lumps disappear. Salt to taste. Stir the chopped bacon into the finished cheese. Once it cools, it's ready to eat!
