  • Lots of people love broccoli — it's a healthy vegetable and delicious to boot, packed with vitamins. I don't know many recipes for it, since my family tends to prefer regular cabbage. But when I make broccoli with mushrooms, everyone forgets all about grains and pasta. So, shall we get started? Today it's broccoli with mushrooms and fragrant ginger. First, boil the broccoli in salted water until tender, then lift it out and let it drain. Now for the mushrooms: rinse them and cut them into strips. Heat a skillet, add some vegetable oil, and sauté the mushrooms. Peel the ginger root and slice it into thin pieces — it smells amazing, by the way. Add the sliced ginger to the skillet and let it cook together with the mushrooms. Don't forget to season with salt and pepper! Transfer the broccoli to a large serving dish. Spoon the sautéed mushrooms and ginger over the broccoli, drizzle everything with sesame oil, and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds. To toast the seeds, cook them in a dry skillet — no oil — for about four minutes. Your broccoli with ginger and mushrooms is ready to serve.
