Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
Let's prepare the ingredients for this simple dish. You can use any loaf. If the loaf is narrow like a baguette, then it is enough to cut it into thin circles with a thickness of no more than 1 centimeter. It is better to cut the pieces of a wide loaf into several parts. For such a dish, you can even use a slightly dried or yesterday's loaf. A fried loaf for breakfast is a great way to apply the remains of a loaf from lunch or dinner to business.
Step 2:
Drive chicken eggs into a bowl. Add a pinch of salt and ground black pepper to taste.
Step 3:
Using a fork or mixer, beat the eggs until a homogeneous mixture is formed and the salt is completely dissolved. If you want croutons from a loaf in an egg to turn out sweet, then instead of black ground pepper, you need to add sugar to taste.
Step 4:
Pour vegetable oil into the pan. Turn on the fire. When the butter warms up, put the pieces of the loaf on it, pre-dipped in the egg mixture. It is not necessary to keep the loaf in the egg mixture for a long time, so that it is not strongly soaked with liquid, otherwise it may not be baked. Fry the pieces of the loaf in an egg over medium heat on one side until a golden crust forms.
Step 5:
Then turn the pieces of the loaf to the other side with a spatula and fry them also until golden. To be sure that the loaf with the egg is fried well, you can close the pan with a lid and hold the pan on the fire for another couple of minutes.
Step 6:
Remove the lid from the pan, the loaf in the egg is ready. We put the loaf on a plate and serve it to the table with tea, coffee or cocoa. If desired, the pieces of the loaf can be sprinkled with chopped fresh herbs, and if the croutons are sweet, then you can serve with jam or jam. Enjoy your meal!
