"Little Boats" Red Caviar Canapés

The tastiest, most-loved party appetizer! Not long ago it was my husband's birthday, and I was setting the table for the celebration. The day before, I'd prepared all the food I planned to serve the guests. The only thing left was a cold appetizer. At first I wanted to make plain red caviar canapés, but that dish isn't especially original, even though many people love it. After a little thought, I decided to keep my caviar idea but give it a twist and make red caviar "Little Boats" canapés. I have to say, the dish turns out very pretty and the flavor gets an extra touch of zest. If you'd like to surprise your guests with this appetizer too, I recommend making it.

  • Here's the recipe. Cut the bread into slices about 1.5 centimeters thick, spread them with butter, and lay an even layer of red caviar on top. Now thinly slice the lemon. Pierce one side of a lemon slice with a toothpick, thread on an olive, push the toothpick all the way through, and pierce the opposite side of the lemon slice. Now stick the resulting "sail" into the canapé. Do the same with all the canapés. Arrange them on a platter and serve. I'm sure your guests will be delighted!
