Squid Salad with Walnuts

This salad will be a wonderful addition to your festive table! There are many recipes that feature squid. It's an excellent delicacy that the national cuisines of the Mediterranean can rightly boast about. Anyone who loves seafood is sure to enjoy it! Before I explain how to make this wonderful salad, I want to point out a few things worth keeping in mind if you want the meat to be tender, tasty, and to keep its beneficial properties. First, thaw squid in the open air or in cold, lightly salted water. After that you can clean it. Second, it's best to pound the meat on both sides so that the squid fillet doesn't curl up and turn tough during frying or boiling. Third, don't cook or fry the meat for long. With overly long cooking, it quickly loses its taste and nutritional value. Two or three minutes is enough.

  • Prepare the raisins. It's better to use seedless raisins. To soften them, cover them with boiling water for 5 minutes. Then drain the water and pat them dry a little. Now you can finely chop the canned squid, mix it with the raisins, and dress it with mayonnaise. Spread it in a wide salad bowl and sprinkle it generously with walnuts. You can garnish the salad with a lettuce leaf and a tomato — that adds bright color to your creation! I promise you'll be delighted with this squid salad with walnuts.
