Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
How to make chicken legs in a tandoor? First of all, prepare the chicken. For the recipe, you can use both chicken legs, legs, and other parts of the bird. Rinse the chicken, and then dry it with napkins or a towel. Cut the carcass into portions of approximately the same size. Sprinkle the meat with paprika and dry basil.
Step 2:
Send the hams to a deep container suitable for pickling. Peel the onion and cut into rings, add to the chicken. Salt the poultry meat to taste, sprinkle with a mixture of ground peppers, pour in the oil and mix everything well. For pickling, you can use ready-made chicken seasoning or other favorite spices. Leave the meat in the refrigerator for at least an hour. The longer the chicken is marinated, the tastier the finished dish will turn out.
Step 3:
To make the finished chicken more juicy and fragrant, add vegetables to it such as: zucchini, eggplant, cherry tomatoes, bell pepper and so on. Cut the vegetables into large pieces, season with salt and pepper, sprinkle with a small amount of oil.
Step 4:
Light the firewood and coals in the tandoor. Heat for a while until the walls of the tandoor are thoroughly warmed up.
Step 5:
Level the coals and proceed to the main stage of cooking.
Step 6:
Put chicken legs and vegetables on the grill.
Step 7:
Place the grate in the tandoor, cover with a lid.
Step 8:
Leave the meat and vegetables until fully cooked.
Step 9:
How long should I bake the chicken? The cooking time depends on many factors: what model of tandoor you have, how much heat is inside, and so on. After a while, open the lid of the tandoor, make an incision with a sharp knife on the largest piece and check the degree of readiness. If you see clear juice, then the chicken is cooked.
Step 10:
Serve hot!
It took me about 30-40 minutes to cook chicken with vegetables.
Offer fresh salads and vegetables to the finished dish.
Bon appetit!
Pierce the meat with a knife: if the knife enters easily and the light juice flows, then it is ready, if the juice is pink or red, you need to continue cooking.
Chicken can be replaced with turkey or any other type of meat at your request. But keep in mind that in this case, the cooking time and calorie content of the dish will change.
If you use ready-made spice mixes, be sure to read the composition on the package. Often, salt is already present in such mixtures, take this into account, otherwise you risk over-salting the dish.
