Batter-Crust Pizza with Pork, Tomatoes, and Peppers
A quick, yeast-free pizza dough made with mayonnaise and eggs. Unlike yeast dough, this batter-style pizza dough comes together in no time — you just stir all the ingredients together with a spoon. You spoon the batter into a pan in a thin layer and bake it without any topping to make the pizza crust.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
We'll make the batter-style pizza dough from flour, eggs, and mayonnaise, plus vegetable oil, baking powder, and salt. For the topping we'll use tomato, bell pepper, tomato sauce, cured pork loin, dill and basil, and hard cheese. Gather everything from the list.
-
Step 2:
Crack the eggs into a bowl and add the vegetable oil and mayonnaise.
-
Step 3:
Mix the egg mixture well with a spoon or fork until smooth.
-
Step 4:
Next, stir in the flour combined with the baking powder and salt.
-
Step 5:
Stir the thick batter until the flour is fully incorporated and there are no lumps.
-
Step 6:
Grease a baking pan with vegetable oil.
-
Step 7:
Spread the thick batter into the greased pan in a thin layer.
-
Step 8:
Smooth the surface of the batter with a spoon.
-
Step 9:
Put the pan of batter into an oven preheated to 350°F (180°C) for 20 minutes.
-
Step 10:
While the crust bakes, prep the toppings: slice the tomatoes into rounds, cut the bell pepper into thin strips, cut the meat into small cubes, grate the cheese on the coarse side of a grater, and finely chop the herbs.
-
Step 11:
After 20 minutes, take the crust out of the oven. It's already baked through, since it was such a thin layer, so now you can add the toppings.
-
Step 12:
Spread tomato sauce over the hot crust.
-
Step 13:
Arrange the cubes of cured pork over the sauce.
-
Step 14:
Then lay strips of bell pepper on top of the meat.
-
Step 15:
Cover it all with the tomato rounds.
-
Step 16:
Sprinkle the tomatoes with the chopped herbs.
-
Step 17:
Top the pizza with a layer of grated cheese.
-
Step 18:
Return the topped pizza to the oven and keep baking at 350°F (180°C) for another 20 minutes.
-
Step 19:
Take the finished batter-crust pizza out of the oven.
-
Step 20:
Carefully loosen the pizza from the pan with a spatula and transfer it to a flat plate.
-
Step 21:
The batter-crust pizza is ready — serve it hot and cut it into portions.
