Pike roe fritters
Love fish dishes? This recipe is for you! I'm sharing my father-in-law's signature recipe—he's a fisherman (and yes, he gave me the okay to share). These are fritters made from pike roe. Have you ever tried them? Ever made them yourself? If not, now's the time to give it a go and treat your family. The fritters come out tender and really tasty!

- Remove the membranes from the pike roe, then put it in a bowl.
- Crack the egg into the roe, add salt, pepper, and garlic powder, and mix.
- Spoon in the sour cream, and add the baking soda on top of it.
- Stir, then sift in and add the flour.
- Blend the mixture with an immersion blender (I love that the blender helps "catch" whatever you couldn't pick out by hand—all the little membranes wind up on the blade) until completely smooth.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet and drop the batter in by the spoonful.
- Fry on both sides until golden.
- Delicious, appetizing, and fragrant!
- Enjoy!
