Squid patties
A little taste of the sea on your table. You've never had anything like it!
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Clean the squid bodies of any gunk and cut them into small pieces to fit the meat grinder.
-
Step 2:
Peel the onion and cut it into small pieces.
-
Step 3:
Put the onion and squid through a meat grinder or blender.
-
Step 4:
Grind everything into a smooth ground mixture.
-
Step 5:
Add the egg and chopped dill. Don't forget the salt and pepper.
-
Step 6:
Add the flour, mix it all together, and you'll get a grayish batter :) Let it sit in the fridge for 30 minutes so all the ingredients get friendly with each other.
-
Step 7:
Heat up a skillet with the butter and spoon out the patties. I tried shaping them by hand and dredging them in flour, but it didn't work at all... so I just started dropping the batter by the spoonful.
-
Step 8:
Heads up! Squid holds a lot of water, so you only need a little oil. I scooped out the excess liquid with a spoon—otherwise they steam instead of frying!
-
Step 9:
Fry for exactly 3 minutes per side—no longer, or they'll turn rubbery. And you end up with little treats :)
- Keep a stopwatch handy here—otherwise, hello, rubber!
