Hot potato sandwiches
Quick hot sandwiches for potato lovers! They come together fast, and you can always get the kids to pitch in. Potato fans will love the crispy crust.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Get the ingredients ready. Stir the potato starch into 2 tablespoons of water (you can use the juice from the grated potatoes instead).
-
Step 2:
Grate the potatoes and carrots on a fine grater; finely chop the onion or grate it on a coarse grater. Add the vegetable oil and the dissolved starch. Mix everything together.
-
Step 3:
Slice the loaf or whatever bread you're using.
-
Step 4:
Spread the filling on one side of each bread slice (you can do both sides if you like).
-
Step 5:
Start frying the sandwiches filling-side down over low heat, so the filling has time to cook through, until golden.
-
Step 6:
Then flip them over to the other side.
-
Step 7:
The sandwiches are ready — sprinkle green onions on top. Enjoy!
- They're best served hot, either as a snack on their own or as a toasty side to a main course.
