Cauliflower Steaks
Surprise your family with this tasty little dish. Easy, quick, and delicious, as always.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Brush a grill pan with vegetable oil and get it good and hot.
-
Step 2:
Wash the bell pepper and remove the stem and seeds. Cut it into rings about 1/4–1/2 inch (0.5–1 cm) thick.
-
Step 3:
Wash the cauliflower and slice it into steaks about 1 inch (2–2.5 cm) thick.
-
Step 4:
Brush the cauliflower and pepper with the Asian sauce (recipe below) and set them on the grill pan; sear on both sides until grill marks form. Transfer to a baking dish, brush with sauce once more, and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
-
Step 5:
For the sauce: pour the soy sauce, vinegar, and orange juice into a saucepan, then add the ketchup and sugar. Stir everything together. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then stir in the cornstarch dissolved in a little water, stirring constantly, and cook the sauce down until thickened. Finish with spices to taste and take it off the heat. And that's it—enjoy!
