No-Bake Cake in 15 Minutes

Simple and quick - even a child can make it! This no-bake cake is made from store-bought shortbread cookies with a condensed-milk frosting. In just 15 minutes you'll have a delicious cake that looks and tastes like a Muraveynik ("Anthill") cake, but, unlike that one, is made without an oven.

Cooking method

Cooking time: 15 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1

How do you make a no-bake cake in 15 minutes? Gather the ingredients. Plain shortbread or tea cookies work well. Use regular or boiled condensed milk, to taste - or boil it yourself. Use the best-quality butter, with no additives. Crush the cookies into crumbs with a rolling pin or blender. The main thing is not to overdo it - don't grind the cookies into flour; some larger pieces should remain.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2

For the frosting, take condensed milk and butter; if you like, you can add some sour cream too, which makes it more tender and less sweet. Take the butter out of the fridge ahead of time so it's soft. It's tasty to make the frosting with condensed milk that has cocoa added, or add the cocoa yourself if you like a chocolate flavor.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3

Put the butter in a deep bowl and add the condensed milk and half a teaspoon of lemon juice.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4

Beat the ingredients with a mixer until you have a smooth, fluffy, pale mass.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5

Wash the walnuts, dry them in the microwave or in a dry skillet on the stove, and grind them into crumbs with a rolling pin or blender. Add the chopped walnuts to the bowl of frosting and mix thoroughly.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6

Add the cookie crumbs to the bowl of frosting and mix so all the cookie crumbs are coated with the frosting.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7

Mound the cookie-and-frosting mixture on a flat plate or other dish. If you like, decorate the top with grated milk chocolate. Let the cake cool and set in the fridge for a couple of hours. Serve the cake with tea, coffee, or cocoa. Enjoy!

  • Choose high-quality, trusted condensed milk with no vegetable fats or additives. The ingredient list should contain just two things: milk and sugar. The taste and quality of the finished dish depend on the quality of the condensed milk.
