Cooking method

  1. Step 1:

    Step 1

How do you make a salad with corn, egg, chicken, and cheese? Get your ingredients ready. We'll use canned corn for this salad — open the can and drain off all the liquid. The chicken and eggs need to be boiled and cooled ahead of time. Put the chicken in boiling water and cook it for about 30 minutes over low heat. Boil the eggs for 7–8 minutes, then drain the hot water and put the eggs in cold water to cool.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2

For the salad, the ingredients need to be completely cool. Cut the chicken into small cubes. Peel the eggs.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3

Use a roomy, deep bowl for mixing. Combine the chicken and chopped eggs in the bowl. You can simply chop the eggs with a knife or run them through an egg slicer.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4

Cut the cheese into small cubes, about the same size as the chicken. Add the diced cheese to the bowl.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5

Add the canned corn and a little chopped fresh herbs.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6

For the dressing, use sour cream with a little mustard for flavor. Add a pinch of salt to taste. Toss the salad with the dressing, chill briefly, and serve. You can plate it in individual portions or in one big bowl. Enjoy!

  • Everyone's sense of salty, sweet, bitter, sharp, sour, and spicy is different, so always add spices and seasonings to your own taste. If you're using a seasoning for the first time, remember that some are especially easy to overdo — chili pepper, for one.
  • You can swap the chicken for turkey or any other meat you like. Just keep in mind that this will change the cooking time and the calorie count.
  • How do you buy good canned corn? Always check the use-by date on the can. If it's a glass jar, take a close look at the kernels — they should be uniform in size and color, whole, and spot-free. There should be no dyes, preservatives, or flavor enhancers in the ingredients.
