Cooking method
In Germany, food is prepared thoroughly and thoroughly. The Germans are so neat and meticulous. The culinary recipe of the famous apple pie or cake, as it is called at home, also requires an exact ratio of ingredients in cooking.
First knead the dough. Pour flour into a bowl, add butter, egg, salt and a pinch of powdered sugar. Mix everything and grind until smooth. The dough is wrapped in plastic wrap and sent to the refrigerator for about two hours. After two hours, we form a ball from the dough and roll out a circle so that it covers the oiled bottom of the mold and rises about 10 centimeters at the edges. The edges are crimped by walking along them with the teeth of a fork.
Apples are washed, peeled from the skin and core and cut into slices. We put it beautifully in one layer on the dough, and pour a mixture of Calvados with vanilla sugar on top. Put the pie in the preheated oven for 40 minutes. We bake at a temperature of 225 degrees, constantly checking whether the pie has started to burn.
While the pie is still warm, grease it with apricot jam on top and sprinkle with finely chopped pistachios. We serve it on the table - completely cooled down.
