Kefir Smoothie
A kefir smoothie is a simple, healthy treat! Kefir is a wholesome fermented-milk drink that contains probiotics, vitamins, and minerals the body needs to function properly. You can multiply kefir's benefits by adding vegetables or fruit, which also pack plenty of good-for-you nutrients, turning them together into a wonderful dessert - a smoothie. Smoothies are easy and quick to make, and even a child can manage it; the main thing is to pick the right combination for the drink.

- There are countless smoothie recipes. You can pick whichever suits your taste and the goal you're making the drink for - for weight loss, say, or just for a light, tasty snack. If you're making the smoothie as a snack for someone watching their figure, then of course use low-fat kefir.
- Apart from kefir, the second main component of a smoothie should be vegetables rather than fruit and berries, which contain a lot of sugar. Sugar and salt should definitely be left out of smoothie ingredients. If you still want the drink to be sweet, you can add a teaspoon of honey along with the berries and fruit as an alternative to sugar. The simplest smoothie recipe, which is more of a treat, is just kefir and any fruit or berries. This smoothie can be served for breakfast or as a dessert, and kids especially will love it.
- Peel the bananas, cut them into large pieces, and put them in a blender. Wash the apple, cut out the seedy core, peel it if the skin is tough, cut it into pieces, and add it to the banana in the bowl. Add the raspberries and strawberries. Blend everything until smooth. Add a teaspoon of honey (if there's no reason you shouldn't eat it) and pour in the kefir. Blend everything again until the mixture is smooth and even.
- To make the drink look nicer when served, you can drizzle berry syrup down the inside of the glass before adding the kefir. Then pour the smoothie into the glass. Sprinkle grated chocolate on top - it adds a pleasant flavor to the drink - and garnish with fresh berries. If you like, you can replace the chocolate with cocoa powder or ground coffee. The smoothie is ready. Serve it up. Enjoy!
