Bread Dough Pies

Make delicious pies for tea time — soft and fragrant! These fried bread-dough pies work with any filling you like; here it's liver, egg, and onion, and they turn out really tasty. Fry them in any vegetable oil, ideally a refined one.

    1. Wash the liver, remove any membranes and veins, and boil it in salted water until fully cooked; then cool and cut into small cubes.
    1. Hard-boil the eggs as well, cool them in cold water, peel, and cut into small sticks.
    1. Peel the onion, dice it, and sauté in a little vegetable oil until soft.
    1. Combine the liver with the eggs and onion, season with salt and pepper, and stir together.
    1. Divide the dough into small balls; flatten each one into a round, add the filling, and pinch the edges shut.
    1. Fry the pies in vegetable oil on both sides until golden brown.
