Sangria with Cointreau

A bright, mood-lifting drink for a get-together with friends! It's a wonderful, refreshing pour for family celebrations. On cold winter days, sangria is served warm; in summer, pour it over ice. Feel free to experiment with different fruits—either way it comes out delicious and refreshing!

    1. Pour filtered water into a saucepan, add the sugar, stir, and set over the heat. Cook the syrup until all the sugar crystals dissolve, then let it cool. 2. Wash the orange and lemon and slice them into thin rounds. Put them in a pitcher, pour the cooled sugar syrup over them, and add the Cointreau orange liqueur. Refrigerate for a couple of hours so the drink takes on the citrus aroma. 3. Add the red wine and stir. Your sangria is ready!
