Pea and Broccoli Mash
A wonderful pairing of peas and broccoli — the flavor is amazing! I made peas this way at home the other day. I wanted to switch up the usual mash, and adding broccoli gave the dish a whole new note. My husband and kids loved it. You can serve it on its own or alongside meat patties — I think the kids will be thrilled!

- Put the rinsed peas on to cook over low heat. Stick to a ratio of 1 cup of peas to 3 cups of water or broth. Cook for about an hour, depending on the peas. 2. While the peas cook, prep the vegetables. Sauté the onion first, then the carrot. Next add the diced potatoes and the broccoli. 3. Combine the cooked peas and vegetables, season with salt, add the dried spices, and simmer together for another 5 minutes. 4. Mash the peas however you like — with a potato masher or a blender. Your mash is ready. Enjoy!
