Squid and Shrimp with Herbs, Lemon Juice, and Tabasco

A refined dish for true food lovers! Perfect for a holiday spread. Show me a civilized person who doesn't adore seafood! Here's one right in front of you. My family and I no longer think of this as anything fancy. We don't eat squid and shrimp every single day, but once a week — definitely. The real question is which recipe to make them by. A friend shared hers with me, and now I'm sharing it with you!

  • Sauté the squid in olive oil for 3–4 minutes. Peel and slice the onion into rings, then sprinkle it with black and red pepper. Squeeze the lemon juice over it. Add the sautéed squid and salt the dish. Set it aside to marinate for a couple of hours. In the meantime, wash and dry all the herbs. Into a blender, put olive oil, lemon juice, salt, dill, cilantro, garlic, and Tabasco. Blend the mixture until the herbs are fully broken down. Fold the shrimp into the resulting sauce, mix well, and let it sit for an hour or two. Wash, dry, and cut the tomatoes. Cut and mix in the rest of the herbs (about half). Layer everything into glasses — tomatoes, mixed herbs, shrimp, squid, the onion from the squid, and so on until the glasses are full. Garnish however you like and finish with a squeeze of lemon juice.
