Plum Jam with Citric Acid
It'll be a treat on cold winter evenings! Sometimes you want to wow your party guests with something other than the usual store-bought cake — something you made yourself, and a little out of the ordinary at that. So for a recent get-together, I made plum jam using a very simple recipe. The guests were thrilled. If you'd like to impress your family and friends too, just follow these easy steps.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
The ingredients.
-
Step 2:
Wash the plums and pit them.
-
Step 3:
Add water to the plums and set them on the stove.
-
Step 4:
Bring it to a boil and cook for about 15–20 minutes.
-
Step 5:
Once the time is up, pour a cup of sugar into the pot and stir it in. When the sugar has dissolved, add another cup, and so on.
-
Step 6:
Once the whole kilogram of sugar has dissolved into the mixture, cook the jam over medium heat, stirring, for about 40–45 minutes.
-
Step 7:
About 5 minutes before the jam is done, stir in the citric acid.
-
Step 8:
Once the plum jam is ready, ladle it into clean jars and seal them with lids. Let it cool.
-
Step 9:
Enjoy!
