- This is a dish you can make for everyday meals or for a holiday table — the salad turns out really delicious. I'd say it belongs to Estonian, or any Baltic, cuisine. Let's get cooking. Hard-boil the eggs. In another pot, bring water to a boil for the squid, first adding bay leaf, salt, and pepper. Drop the washed squid into the boiling water and cook for no more than a minute. Let the squid cool, then cut it into nice thin strips. Once the eggs are cooked, peel them and grate them on the coarse side; grate the cheese as well. Cut the tomatoes into medium cubes and finely chop the herbs. Put all the prepared ingredients in one bowl, mix, and add the mayonnaise. Carefully toss everything together once more. Garnish the finished salad with the remaining herbs and serve. This squid salad looks lovely and tastes wonderful — light yet satisfying, and a real favorite with seafood lovers.
