- Peel the potatoes, cut them into long sticks, and boil them in salted water with a splash of vinegar. Drain the cooked potatoes in a colander and transfer them to a large bowl. In a small skillet, combine the salt, black pepper, chili, and turmeric, then add the crushed garlic. Pour in the soy sauce and vegetable oil, set the skillet over the heat, and bring it to a boil. Let it boil for one minute, then take it off the heat. Remove the garlic and pour the contents of the skillet over the potatoes. Toss everything together well.
