Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
Prepare the ingredients for the croutons. We use white bread, croutons from it will turn out tastier than from black bread. Bread can be used any by availability and taste: molded, loaf or loaf. The number of ingredients can be changed at will and taste preferences.
Step 2:
A loaf of white bread is cut into slices about 1 centimeter thick, no thinner is needed, otherwise there will not be enough space for the filling to absorb, and thick pieces will remain moist inside, they may not fry. Slices are cut into triangles, if the pieces are large, or leave whole slices.
Step 3:
In a bowl, beat the chicken eggs, add a pinch of salt and ground black pepper. Beat the chicken eggs with a fork or whisk until a homogeneous mixture with a small foam on the surface is obtained. If this dish is prepared for children, then instead of salt and ground black pepper, you can add sugar, you will get dessert sweet croutons that children love more.
Step 4:
Pour in the milk, whisk again or mix well so that the ingredients combine well.
Step 5:
Pour vegetable oil into the pan, if desired, olive oil can be used instead of vegetable oil, the latter is more useful. We warm it up. Each cooked piece of bread is quickly dipped into the milk-egg mixture, turn the piece over so that the bread is covered with the mixture on both sides and put it on the heated oil in a frying pan.
Step 6:
Fry the bread over medium heat, first on one side until golden brown, then turn it over and fry on the second side. Cover the pan with a lid and keep the croutons in the pan for about 5 more minutes.
Step 7:
Remove the croutons from the pan. If it seems that they are saturated with oil, then you can get them wet on a paper towel. We serve warm toast to the table with tea, coffee or cocoa. Bon appetit!
