A Dessert with a Sense of Humor

It's not an egg and a potato — it's peach, apple, and yogurt! Looking at the photo, you'd think it was an ordinary, run-of-the-mill breakfast, but it isn't. What you're looking at is a dessert: a canned peach (standing in for the yolk), apple cut "french-fry style," and yogurt posing as egg white. A dessert like this can lift your mood first thing in the morning. It's also a good one to make for a child — it'll delight a little one. And for April Fools' Day, it makes a pretty good prank ;)

  • It's simple: peel the apple and cut it into sticks "like fries." If it browns, all the better — it'll look even more like fried potatoes. Cut the canned peach in half. Spoon yogurt onto serving plates and set half a peach on top. Next to it, pile up the "fries" — that is, the cut apple. Serve right away.
