Bean and Ham Salad
A tasty, colorful, and original salad! Add some variety to your diet! This bean and ham salad, the recipe for which I'm about to share, is notable for its abundance of vitamins and high iron content (beans, especially red ones, are very high in iron, which makes them extremely beneficial during pregnancy and breastfeeding). It's a German dish, which honestly surprised me a little (I always associate Germany with beer and sausages). Instead of boiled beans, this dish can be made with canned beans. In some cases that's even preferable (canned beans are a bit saltier, which pregnant women tend to appreciate).

Cooking method
- Boil the beans in salted water (it's best to soak them in water for a couple of hours first). Drain the water and let cool. Mix with the sweet corn. Then cut the ham into thin strips and add it to the salad. Peel the cucumbers and cut them too, but into cubes. Last of all, add the finely chopped onion. Now mix everything well, salt if needed, and dress with mayonnaise. Serve in a salad bowl garnished with fresh herbs.
