English-Style Sunday Breakfast
Tasty, filling, good-looking, and quick — give it a try! I'm no great fan of England, but every now and then they come up with something worthwhile!
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Peel the casings off the sausages and score them with a few shallow cuts. Cut the bread into serving-size pieces and halve the tomatoes.
-
Step 2:
Heat a grill pan and, using a little oil, sear the bread, sausages, and tomatoes.
-
Step 3:
Meanwhile, cook the bacon in a separate dry skillet. Cook it to your liking — some prefer it crispy, others just lightly browned. Set the bacon on a paper towel to blot off the excess grease.
-
Step 4:
In that same skillet, sauté the mushrooms, sliced first. Add a little oil if needed. Cook over high heat for a few minutes so the mushrooms stay juicy. Push the mushrooms to one side, crack in the egg, and add the sausages, bacon, and beans in tomato sauce; cook until the egg is set. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve right away with the toast.
