Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
How to make an olivier with chicken and cucumber? Prepare the products. Transfer the chicken fillet to a saucepan. Fill it with water, bring it to a boil and boil for 20 minutes, adding a little salt. Then remove the finished meat from the broth and cut it into several parts so that it cools down faster.
Step 2:
Boil eggs, potatoes and carrots in parallel. Wash potatoes and carrots well from dirt. It is not necessary to clean. Just fill with water and boil until soft, 20-30 minutes after boiling. Check readiness with a knife. Boil the eggs in boiling water for 5-7 minutes. Then cool everything down.
Step 3:
Prepare the salad mixing bowl. Cut the chicken fillet into cubes. Peel the boiled eggs from the shell, slice and add to the chopped meat.
Step 4:
Peel the potatoes and cut into cubes. Add the sliced potatoes to the bowl.
Step 5:
Cut the pickled cucumbers into cubes as well. Cucumbers should be crispy and not too salty.
Step 6:
Add sliced cucumbers and canned green peas to the salad bowl. Add the boiled carrots. Pre-peel it and, like all previous products, cut it into cubes.
Step 7:
Season all chopped ingredients with mayonnaise and mix well. The salad is ready! Put it in the refrigerator before the feast. Before serving, put it in a salad bowl or on a serving plate. The finished salad can be sprinkled with chopped dill a little. Enjoy your meal!
Each hostess has her own secrets of cooking various festive salads. Even such a popular salad as Olivier can be prepared in different ways. I use boiled chicken meat in a salad. But as an experiment, you can try to fry it or take smoked. In any case, it will be very tasty and satisfying.
By the way, if you are afraid for the high calorie content of the dish, then you can replace part of the mayonnaise with sour cream.
Instead of pickled cucumber, you can use fresh. This will add freshness to the taste.
Olivier salad has long been a favorite on our festive table. A lot of people love him. But he can also get bored. Therefore, I suggest trying to diversify it a little and cook a salad with chicken breast. It can be boiled or fried. It's up to you!
It is better to prepare mayonnaise yourself. It will be tastier and healthier. See here interesting
recipes for homemade mayonnaise.
Also, as a dressing, you can use not only mayonnaise, but also sour cream or natural yogurt. They can be taken separately or mixed with mayonnaise in any proportion to your taste - this will reduce the calorie content of the dish.
