Cooking method

Cooking time: 15 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1

How do you make a fresh cucumber, pea, and sour cream salad? Gather the ingredients. You'll need canned peas - choose a good-quality, tasty brand. You can replace the sour cream entirely with mayonnaise, or use sour cream and mayonnaise in a 1:1 ratio. The sour cream must be fresh, natural, high-quality, and pleasant to your taste.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2

Wash the fresh cucumbers thoroughly, using a brush if needed. Trim off the ends. Cut the cucumbers into small slices and put them in a bowl.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3

Tip the canned peas into a sieve so all the liquid drains off. Add them to the bowl with the cucumbers. Mix.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4

Dress the salad with sour cream. Add salt. To taste, you can add spices like ground black pepper, Svan salt, or a little khmeli-suneli. Instead of regular salt you can use Indian black salt, which gives the finished dish a subtle, gentle egg-like flavor. A pinch of turmeric will lend a delicate yellow tint.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5

Rinse the fresh dill under running water, shake it dry, chop it finely, and add it to the salad.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6

Mix the finished cucumber and pea salad and serve it right away. It's not recommended to keep this salad for more than two hours, since the salt draws juice out of the fresh cucumbers and the salad spoils faster. So plan to make this salad to eat in one sitting. Enjoy!

  • If you want to add variety to this dish, try adding a little diced fresh tomato. Canned corn will also dress it up and make it more colorful. And finely chopped smoked suluguni cheese added to the salad lends a special touch and a bright flavor note. So this dish has plenty of room for experimenting: try it and share your variations.
  • If the skin isn't tough, damaged, or bitter, you don't need to peel it off.
  • The salad looks neat and pretty if you cut all the ingredients into pieces of the same size and shape (cubes, for example).
  • You can replace the sour cream with plain yogurt with no additives.
